Pf Changs style Vegetarian lettuce wraps
I had the
chicken lettuce wraps in PF Changs, Bahrain only once.
But the
taste of it was something; I cannot give up.So I wanted to make the same but
vegetarian version at home.
Here goes
my own recipe, which I made with ingredients at my home.
Ingredients: (makes 5 wraps)
Iceberg lettuce:
1 no.
Sesame oil:
1 tsp
Onions: Green:
2 tbsp.
Paneer/Cottage
cheese: 1 small cup chopped to mini cubes
Button Mushrooms:
6 no’s, chopped
Salt as
needed
For Garnishing:
Grated
carrots: 1 small cup
Nuts:
Walnuts/cashews or both: 1 small cup (chopped)
For the sauce:
Peanut butter:
1 tbsp.
Sesame oil:
1 tsp
Chili flakes:
1 tsp
Ginger: 1
tsp finely chopped
Any hot
sauce/Sriracha sauce/red chilli sauce: 1 tsp
Soy sauce:
1 tsp
Method:
Patiently,
take out 5 lettuce leaves and keep it aside. Be careful not to tear them and to
have decent big leaves to roll up.
To make the
sauce, just add all the sauce ingredients in a bowl and whisk well.
For the
filling, Heat a pan and add oil.
When the
oil is hot, add the onions and fry well.
Add cottage
cheese and mushrooms and some salt and fry till the mushrooms get sautéed well
and all the water from the mushroom is dry.
Finally add
the prepared sauce and give a quick stir. Switch off the gas.
Take a
Lettuce leaf; keep 2 tbsp. of the prepared cooked filling.
Sprinkle some
grated carrots and nuts. Roll the lettuce leaf and using a toothpick, secure
the ends.
Serve.
