New York Tour Day 6-7 Niagara falls
Day 6 and Day 7: Niagara Falls
We checked out from hotel and went with our bags to Sheraton Main Entrance, which is just 1 building away from our hotel for pick up at 6 am for Niagara Falls. We booked the tour online and were given confirmation via email, messages, calls.
We were driven from here in a small van and many more tourists were picked near Port Terminal. Then we were driven for few hours. We were later given a break at a Fuel station, where we bought some drinks and croissants, bananas for breakfast.
We stopped at Hershey’s Chocolate Factory at Hershey’s, where we were joined with another group in a big bus. We clicked few pictures and did some shopping here. Later we were taken to Wegman for Lunch. We had Broccoli Cheddar soup, Pizza, French fries and bought few Danish Pastries. After a good lunch, we were taken to Corning Glass Museum. Museum was a beautiful place, with some scientific showcases, live demonstrations of Glass Making. The Glass Making Show Entrance ticket costs 20$.It was not so great, if you have seen such demonstrations before.
Experiments here was fun to experience- To see an inverted image of yourself in a mirror., to see enlarged face of your friend in a glass, to see your friend’s face through a bent glass tunnel, etc.
Then we drove to Buffalo, to check in at Marriot Hotel. We refreshed and we were taken to see the Niagara at night, with colours reflected on it to make it look like Colourful Waterfalls. We can get 2-3 views of the waterfalls from different places and, we can see Canada from here. There is no entrance ticket for this. But we had to pay extra 35$ per person as fees for Driver and Guide to take us here and return to hotel. We had dinner at Indian Restaurant at the Food Court. Food was hot and tasty.
Next Day, we checked out from hotel and left to see Niagara. Entrance ticket to maid of the Mist is 25.25$ per person. Entrance Ticket to Cave of the Winds is 29$ including a Film about Niagara Falls.
We were first taken to see the water flow of Niagara River. Then we went to Cave of the Winds. After the film, we were taken in lift to the foot of the falls. Here, we can go close to the falls. It gets cold and misty and be ready to get wet, even if you are a little away from the falls. It was a beautiful experience, to be just near the falls and experience the cold mist.
Next, we were taken to Maid of the Mist. Here as we approach the waterfalls, the mist engulfs you and we only see white clouds around you. This was a beautiful experience too. Time you spend in Maid of the Mist is not in your hands, as it is controlled by the sailor. But the time spent in Cave of the Winds is your preference. You can spend more time here as you wish.
After this we had brunch at the same Indian Restaurant as the previous night.
Then we started our journey towards New York. We stopped at few places on the way for break. We reached Port Terminal around 9 30 p.m. We were to be dropped at Flushing. Since they didn’t have enough seats for us in the Mini Van, we were dropped in taxi.
