Bali : Day 2 :Uluwatu Temple, Vishnu Kenchana Park, Watersports

We checked out from hotel  and drove to Bentoa Beach for water activities. We didn’t want to get wet and also we had done few activities before in Thailand, so decided to only visit Turtle Island.

Feel free to bargain  as its not fixed price.
So,we bargained a bit  then  left for turtle island.

They took us on a private Speedboat,  with  a small glass base to see the water under the boat. As we reached a specific spot, we were asked to feed bread for fishes. We saw a shoal of tiger fishes. Then we were taken to the turtle Island. Guide there,  was a student and he explained well about the island and their conservatory  works.  There were different and types of turtles, birds, iguana, even python were there. As a act of donation, we bought few photos that were clicked there and also tipped the guide and left back in boat.

Next we drove to Puja Mandala.

Here there is a mosque, Hindu Temple, Catholic Church, Buddhist Temple all lined in 1 place 1 next to other. You can surely miss this if required, not a must see place.

Then we went to a place for Craft Shopping. We spent some time seeing the different crafts made of different material: glass, wood, steel, etc. After shopping we went for Lunch.  Lunch was at Bejana. We had good lunch and left  for Vishnu  Kenchana Park . Ticket cost 80K per peron. There are many activities inside the Park other than the main attraction. Also you need to Park your car, take shuttle to go to entrance, from there you need to walk for 5 mins .Be aware there is some walking required. Golf Carts are also  available to go up the hill to see the statue.

Dance shows, music Shows and other entertainment are available in the amphitheatre, last skit shows  at 3 pm.We just missed the drama , but got to watch the dance show at 4 pm.

There is a museum near the main statue.

Whole park  has been constructed recently and this statue is enormous and can be seen from anywhere. Also, it has all the many information about Mahabaratha and Ramayana (holy scriptures for  Hindus)

Then our next stop was Uluwatu Temple. We just missed the 6 pm Kekak Dance show as the tickets were sold fully. All the shrines are closed  for tourists, but you can have beautiful sun set views here from the top of the cliff overlooking the ocean.

There are loads of naughty Monkeys here, so be careful of your belongings and don’t leave your bags  , phones etc unattended.  Everyone have to wear the shirong while entering the temple. It is provided at the entrance of the temple for free, You can drop them in a box  before leaving the temple.

We wanted to see the 7 pm Kekak Dance, but we had to take dinner and then check in at  our hotel in Ubud, so due to time constraint and it will be really late  if we leave from temple at around 7 45 pm after the show , so we missed the show.

We had dinner at Rame Cafe Jimbaran overlooking the sea on the beach. It was a special arrangement  and a seafood dinner. We also got Vegetarian fried rice for Vegetarians.

Then our guide drove us to  Sun Heaven Hotel in Ubud. This hotel was in a secluded area in between the terrace cultivations. After check in   and other formalities we retired in our rooms.. Hotel was very good with very friendly staff. We also got another cheesecake here in our room. Room had a balcony . Dining area had a view of the  rice plantations. They also arrange morning walk in between the rice plantation at 7 am  everyday. They have good spa .Breakfast is a la carte and they have some delicious  dishes in the menu.
