Day 2: Bhutan :Thimphu
We checked out from hotel, after breakfast and we left for the trip.
Our first stop was Immigration Centre where we waited to get our Passports stamped. Later we were all greeted by the TripKarado Team with a yellow stole which symbolises prosperity .
We started our ascent from Phuentsholing to Thimphu.
We first visited the Gedu Stupa. This place has eight stupas symbolising the 8 important events in Buddha's Life.
- Buddha’s birth in Lumbini
- his enlightenment in Bodh Gaya
- his first teaching in Sarnath
- his death in Kushinagar
- the demonstration of miracles,
- the return from the divine realms
- the reconciliation of the divided community
- the complete victory.
On the way we stopped at few places for clicking Pictures near the Wangkha waterfalls.
We stopped for lunch at a Bhutanese restaurant called Shelgoen Restaurant at Wangkha, Chapcha. We had Ema Datchi, Aloo Zeera with rice, roti and butter tea.
Then we stopped at Chuzom where Thimphu and Paro Rivers converge.This was a very beautiful sight and needed some time here.This place also is considered to be dangerous, so 3 different stupas in Bhutanese, Nepalese, Tibetan style are built near a bank.
We reached Thimphu.Thimphu is densely populated. It doesnt have traffic lights.After check in at the hotel Bhutan Boutique Residency, we went around for a walk till Clock Tower and also to check out the craft bazaar.
We had dinner at the Hotel.The staff at all the hotels were stayed were very kind and helpful and the one in this Hotel was kinder and even more considerate.

Traditional dress worn by men is called Gho.
Traditional dress worn by women is called Gheera.
