New York Tour Day 4 : Vessel, Times Square, Fifth Avenue, Rockefeller centre, Empire State Building, Central Park, Central Zoo

We planned a small itinerary to visit the remaining places. We first took the 7 train to visit Hudson yards – Vessel. The place is at last stop of the train line and this structure is just outside the train station. This was a Copper colour new Structure. We were not allowed to enter inside. So clicked few pictures from outside. Just adjacent to the Vessel is the Edge. This is another observatory. We can purchase tickets and have a bird’s Eye view from top. Here the Balcony walls are of glass, so we can get a real time view too.

We wanted to visit Little Island. But Google Maps asked us to take a bus and so we instead took the train to go to Rockefeller Centre. We followed Google Maps Instructions, got down at Fifth Avenue and started walking in exactly the opposite direction walking through the Fifth Avenue. We suddenly realised; we were outside the Empire State Building of New York. We clicked few pictures from outside. There is an observatory here too, but we didn’t visit it. Then we walked back towards Rockefeller centre. This was like a happening place with skating, music, food. The Christmas Tree lighting happens at this place every year. We then started walking towards Central Park. You will see the Apple   sign in a huge size near Central Park entrance.

We entered Central Park and then purchased tickets for Central Zoo. Entrance ticket for the Zoo costs 20$ per person. Zoo was a small place with few activities like sea Lion feeding, penguin feeding, a 4D Movie, Kids’ Zoo. First, we entered the Tropical Region, where the birds were not in cages, but let freely in the enclosure. Then it was time for Sea Lion Feeding. We watched this and walked around. We were excited to see the Snow Leopard which we haven’t seen before in real. Tamarin also was first time for me. We then waited to watch the Penguin feeding. Next, we watched the 4D Movie. This was incredible with Sound, air, water effects in 3D. We also visited the Kid’s Zoo with the Goat, Rabbit, Hen and many more domestic animals.

Later we walked to a place on the lawn and rested for half hour watching people taking Dogs for walk, kids play. We walked to the Gate and took bus to Time Square Junction. We walked from the bus stop to Times Square. There we walked around, located the Port Terminal. This was our pickup point the next morning for Washington tour. Then we had lunch at John’s Pizzeria.

We took the train back to Flushing-Main Street
