Karnataka Road trip : Day 5, Day 6 Dharmasthala, Kukke, Bangalore

We woke up early for visiting the Sringeri temple. Sky  was foggy and main shrine at the temple was not open yet.We visited the Shiva abode and took few pictures of the Stone carvings. There also is a River flowing around the corner . We visited the Goddess Sharadambal  shrine 2 times , had a good darshan . There are other shrines to visit in the temple .After spending some leisure time in the temple we returned to the homestay .We had breakfast prepared for us at the homestay .It was upma and idli . We spent some time strolling through the plantation , and clicking some photos . Later we checked out and left the homestay .

Our next stop was Dharmasthala .This temple was crowded, there were queues and special tickets. We visited the shrine, then   had lunch at the temple. Everyone are seated in rows on the floor and food is served. Being Covid situation,  we were a little apprehensive about eating food in a reused plate . But still we believed in the process and had lunch. In Mookambika temple ,food was served in Disposable eco friendly plates. Then we drove to Kukke.

We checked in at Shri Brahmari Nest.We refreshed and had  some coffee  at Neo Mysore Cafe which is located in the same building of the hotel. We left to Kukke Subrahmanya Temple.

The temple is only 5 kms from the hotel. We had a good darshan and the crowd in the temple was moderate. There are many small shrines for many other deities like Narasimha swamy .We also did Shesha seva. You need to get a ticket from the ticket counter at the temple for this seva. Then you need to take this ticket to 1 of the many priests who are available for doing pooja. They will recite few shlokas for you and do some archana .We also need to give them a tip.Seva cost is 100 inr.You also will get a bag full of puffed rice, small ghee bottle  and other things  as prasad. After having a good darshan, we decided to visit the nearby temples. But the nearby temple were already  closed. We did some shopping  in the nearby shops .They had fruit flavored sambrani or oudh in many shops .Also they were selling good spices.

We returned from temple, had dinner and returned to our rooms. We packed our luggage to checkout the next morning and return to Bangalore.

As planned, we had tea/coffee at Mysore Cafe and started our journey. We followed Google maps, the route was very narrow, steep, bad roads. We were later advised that we need to have taken Hassan route from Mangalore and later taken the Bangalore route. We had breakfast at Adyar Ananda Bhavan at Udayapura.

We reached Bangalore home near Shivajinagar around 1  30 pm .
