Day 4 :Ziz valley, Ifrane, Market, Azrou

We woke up early as breakfast was arranged for 6 30 am, before sunrise.We  had early breakfast  which included cakes, bread, eggs, juice, yoghurt, coffee.Then we climbed the sanddunes to see the sunrise.Sun rise in the desert was spectacular.We then had the sandboard for ourselves. We did some sandboarding  on the sand dunes.Though it is fun to sandboard from the top of the dune,  the tough part was to carry the sandboard up on the sanddune.

After sandboarding couple of times ,we checked out  our tent.Left the luggage with the caretaker, so that they can be brought in car.We left back to the meeting place by camel ride.There were around 8 camels and we both were the only customers.We enjoyed  the weather, wind, camel ride, scenery.Once we reached the meeting place, our driver picked us from the place.

We first visited the market after a hour drive..The market had all goods like sheep, fruits, vegetables, Wooden items, metal goods, spices, dates.One of the shopkeepers called out to us and explained some spices  that he had to offer in his shop.He also offered the Morrocan tea .We bought saffron and some strong Eucalyptus .The cost was quite cheap.Saffron costs  100 MAD  for 5 gms and  Eucalyptus costs  50 MAD for 5 gms .










We also visited the fossil shop. In many places in Morocco under the sea, there are many fossils with sea shells and other marine animals.The factories in this area use this fossil to create beautiful home decors like washbasins, soap boxes, many more.

We then drove to Fes.We passed through the ZIZ valley .Valley is quite beautiful with wonderful views and landscape.We stopped at few places to take some beautiful pictures.We stopped for lunch at Arij Restaurant. We had some veg couscous, berber omelette, Spagetti with tomato sauce.

We crossed the pine forest of Azrou where we missed spotting the barbary apes. We then continued our trip to Ifrane. Ifrane was snowing heavily when we passed through.So we stopped at few places to take pictures with  snow clad Atlas mountains and deciduous trees in the background.

We finally reached Fes after the longest travel of the vacation .

In Fes, we checked into Riad Tafilalat.It was again in a small bylane and we thought we did a mistake.But when you enter the Riad, you realise the beauty of the Interiors.We stayed in Fes for 2 nights here.The rooms were so beautifully furnished.

We had dinner in Riad which included  veg tagine, Moroccan soup  and omelette du fromage.
