Day 7:Chu Chi tunnels,War Remnants museum,Independence Palace,Night Market
After breakfast
we left to Chu Chi tunnels. We walked
through the tunnels, saw a documentary
film, listened to all the stories of Wartime from our guide. We even got to
shoot some AK47 bullets for a price
there.
We returned
to the city to have lunch at Banana Leaf Restaurant Saigon.
Please read my review of the restaurant here.
We visited the Independence
Palace. It is considered similar to
White House. The Palace was the place
where the Vietnam war ended. The North Vietnam army war tank crashed through
its gates and this is where the south Vietnam
President resided during the war. The Palace holds meeting and dining rooms at
different levels.
Also, there is a secret living space for the President in the basement.

Then we visited the War Remnants museum. The visit to War Museum can easily take more than 1 hour. They have exhibited many US Airplanes and other war planes of the war. Also there are many photos in 2 floors explaining about the war. It was really sad seeing the after effects of the war.
We returned to the
hotel then did some shopping at Night Market , had dinner.
