Day 6 : Hoi An Ancient Town ,Japanese Bridge Temple , Assembly Hall,Ancient House, Boat ride

Hoi An Ancient Town is also in the UNESCO World Heritage site. All the houses, shops ,temples  in the town  are preserved and well maintained.

We first visited a Silk manufacturing unit. We were explained about the  silkworm , silk manufacturing, then thread embroidery painting , also weaving.

We first visited the Buddhist Temple on the Bridge.

Construction of the covered Japanese Bridge was started in the year of the dog and ended in the year of the monkey. These animals are kept at the end of the bridge to signify this. The bridge is built  according to Japanese architecture.

We visited  Temple and Assembly Hall. 





The temples had many  big coiled incense that is hanged on the ceilings. These incense are from the devotees, who pray  and tie this so that their wish will be granted.



 The temple has idols of the Mother of the Sea and Protection and Wind Gods. They protect the  men on the sea who go out for fishing. There is also God for Pregnancy who blesses the Pregnant women to have a safe delivery.


We visited the Ancient House, where the house design were explained. There are 3 gates, right  for women, left for men, Centre for special occasions like New Year. We were explained about the Ching Chang Sign of the Chinese , about the lucky  coin.

We rode a Boat on the river. 



Then we walked through the market and reached the hotel. 
We saw the stone carving of Kazimierz Kwiatkowsky , who restored the Hoi An city.



We checked out. Then left to have lunch .We also tried the cold  Coconut Coffee that is so famous in Vietnam , at Khai Nguyen coffee. We then left to Danang Airport to catch our flight to Ho Chi Minh.

We reached Ho Chi Minh and was dropped off at Golden Central Hotel Saigon. After check in, we left to Banana Leaf Restaurant Saigon. We had some very good South Indian food for dinner. We also strolled around the  night market – Ben Thanh market nearby.
