Day 2: Vrelo Bosne,Tunnel of Hope,Bijambare cave,Goath Bridge.
After breakfast we started our tour for the day. We started everyday
between 10 am to 11 am .
We first went to Vrelo Bosne. There was rain throughout the
day till we returned to the hotel.
Vrelo Bosne was the most beautiful park I have ever seen. It
had natural Spring water from the Igman Mountains and large man made lakes that were so crystal
clear and beautiful bridges that were perfect for photos. There are horse
carriages to drive from 1 side of the park to the other. But due to the
rain the horse carriages were not there
.It was very quiet as there were not many tourists and just the river flowing sound. It seems
this is a favourite spot in Summer as
people come there for picnic and
play football.The entrance fees is 2 KM/Person.
We next visited the Tunnel of Hope. The entrance fees is 10
KM/person. The whole feeling changed after seeing the pictures , films, gun
shots .We were explained about the War on Bosnia by Serbian forces in short and how they built the tunnel to
bring supplies from other part of the country. Also we could see the mines still in the places. We
also walked a small stretch of the
tunnel and saw few items that
were used in the construction of tunnel .The tunnel actually went all the way between the 2 parts of
Bosnia and since they could not run on the airport runway, they built the
underground tunnel.Many celebrities have
visited the place and signed
in the visitor’s book.
Bijambare cave
We next visited the Bijambare cave. This was a hour long drive from the tunnel. It was still raining
and they close the cave if there are no tourists, even though its not past the
closing times.
Before we reached there our guide spoke to them telling we
are on the way. When we reached, the
person in the ticket counter said its closed. Then our guide argued with them and bought the tickets. The entrance fees is 2 KM/person.Also
there are trains to take us from the
gate to a little near the cave. This stretch is
a little far and also with the rains
walking didn’t seem interesting.
The train ticket per person is 1 KM one way/person.There are
specific timings when the train will depart and arrive .The person at the ticket counter seemed not
interested and told us the train will
come after an hour. But the train arrived in less than 5 minutes. We travelled through the area and reached the
only station. From there we walked a little more to reach the cave. The cave
was locked, a person working there,
opened it for us and walked with us inside the cave. The entrance fees is 3 KM/person. The cave was even colder and it was similar to the cave we visited in
Georgia, but even smaller one .We were told that a music concert was conducted
in the last cave as it had good
acoustics .We tried our hand in singing there. Then we walked back and took the train and reached
the entrance.
After this we asked our guide to take us to Goath Bridge as
it was in the itinerary. But he first advised, he was not sure of this
place and have never been there. Then
we still went there and clicked pic
there and returned. This bridge was after the Bascarsija .The Bridge as such was
not that great, but the drive to the bridge was nice and it was a hilly area with some beautiful scenary.
We were asked if we were interested to go to a place with
Zoo and lunch Ajdinovici . But we decided to go back to hotel.
We returned to the hotel around 5 30 PM and after some time
we left for dinner at the same OnlyOne Sarajevo Restaurant in Grand Centar
Ilidza.
This time we picked food from the buffet and depending on
what is picked we pay the price .There were few vegetarian items in the menu like Rice,Peas curry,
mashed potatoes, Fried aubergine slices, mushrooms.
After having our food, we returned to the hotel.
