Day 7 : Prokosko lake ,Tarcin Forest Resort, Sarajevo Forest Resort by Sofitel,Bascarsija
Originally our itinerary was Visoko Bosnian Pyramids for
this day. But our guide advised us that
lake is much better than the Pyramids. I also checked online and read some funny
reviews about the man made pyramids. So we changed the plan.
We started from the hotel and travelled straight through the highway to Prokosko lake. We were advised before hand, that the climb up
the mountain had to be in a hired jeep
as the roads were bad to take the car. We stopped at a place and took the jeep .The rent jeep cost 70 KM
both ways. The drive in the jeep was for 1 hr
to reach the lake. We stopped at a place for photos. The mountain, the
trees, snow, lake all were so beautiful. We reached the entrance and the had to
pay 2 KM/person and 10 km/ vehicle.
From there we drove to a house where the lady was busy making yummy pies, bosnian coffee. We were told we can rent a house for a day or night or even few hours. People were doing picnic bringing their own food. There were cows roaming around with bells tied to their necks and making rhythmic sounds. There were people who were renting houses to stay. We walked around enjoying the lake and mountains .Then we had Bosnian coffee and left. We stopped at few places for clicking photos where the water was falling through the mountains.
Then we changed to our car and drove back.

On the way back we bought some fresh strawberries, we were
told it is chemical free and locally grown. It was the best strawberries I have
ever eaten, they were melting in the mouth , juicy and sweet. It was 6 KM for a
big box must have been a kg by weight.
We had already asked our guide about where to buy original honey. So he took
us to Tarcin on the way back where he drove us to his neighbour who was
exporting honey and has won many awards
.The place was called Kazic.1 bottle of honey
which will be around 1 kg was 20 KM. We were shown 3 varieties: Chestnut,
Thick crystallized, Flower honey. We were also shown Bee pollen that was for
sale.
From here we left to Tarcin Forest Resort .This was a
beautiful resort with villas and man made lake .This was up for rent and for sale. Later
our guide also drove us to Sarajevo Resort by Sofitel. This was also a similar
place with villas and very peaceful and away from the city.
Next we drove again to Bascarija for some souvenir shopping. We
had lunch at Staklo restaurant. This time we got some fried veggies and cream
pasta. Pasta was very tasty and the fried veggies as a side complemented well. We
also bought few cherries from the
shop for 1 Km .Cherries were sweet and
tasty too.
We returned to hotel and packed our bags.
Day 8:
We had breakfast, checked out the hotel.
We reached the airport. Sarajevo airport is very small, but the duty free was interesting.
We had a 6 hr stopover at Istanbul. Later we reached Bahrain. Thus our vacation to Bosnia turned out to be super cool and great.
